Handmade using recycled iron, the Ironclad Heirloom Edition continues the craft and tradition that shaped our earliest pans. Each piece is handmade and polished to an Antique Finish™ — a surface that feels like ceramic and performs like non-stick without harmful coatings.

Every Heirloom Edition carries Ironclad’s Three Generation Guarantee® cast into the iron. A promise designed to travel with your pan for the life of its use. You can personalise this guarantee with a name, date, or message. Something to be passed down for generations to come. We work with you directly to bring this customisation to life.

The Heirloom Edition arrives in a black presentation box and includes access to the Ironclad Vault®, a secure digital space to store and share family recipes for generations to come.

Due to the labour-intensive process, each Heirloom takes approximately four to six weeks to complete. We accept a limited number of orders on the first of every month. Sign up for notifications to secure yours - no deposit needed.

Wash in warm water, no soap. Dry thoroughly, heat gently, and rub with a teaspoon of oil before storing.

Use & Care

The Ironclad cleaning ritual is quick and simple.

Wash: Wipe away residue with a dry cloth or paper towel. Rinse and scrub as needed. Dry thoroughly.
Warm: Heat the pan on low to help with seasoning absorption.
Oil: Rub a teaspoon of oil or conditioning balm over the entire surface.
Done: Let cool. Ready to use again and again.

Designer's Notes

The Heirloom has been the most challenging project we have faced since starting Ironclad Co. We knew exactly the finish we wanted - the smooth surface from our vintage cast iron collection at home, circa 1820.

In those days that level of craft was commonplace. Skilled artisans sculpted each piece by hand. Corners weren't cut for efficiency as they so often are today. A couple of foundries in North America had come close, but none could achieve the full-skillet finish that became known as the Ironclad Antique Finish.

After four years of searching for new techniques, we decided to try it the old-fashioned way. Do it by hand. And, of course, it worked.

Every Heirloom is sculpted entirely by hand. Compared to modern production, it takes an embarrassing amount of time to do. But if you're cast iron fans like us, the end result is worth every second.
