Quality checked cast iron, enamelled in a natural glass based satin finish. Soap-friendly, non-toxic, naturally non-stick. Free from PFAS, PFOA, and PTFE. Each Salt Stone piece is hand-flecked to create the soft, organic feel of stoneware. No two are alike. Irregular patterning is part of the process, a mark of the hand that made it. When you order a set, we bundle pieces with a similar look so they feel at home together.

Wash in warm, soapy water. Use a soft cloth or gentle sponge. Rinse well and dry fully with a soft towel. Store in a dry place. If stacking, place a cloth between pans.

Dishwashers will reduce its life. Think of it like a premium chopping board, a knife, or a hat you really like. You wouldn’t put them in a dishwasher. While Ironclad cookware can take almost anything, dishwashers strip, crack, and damage.

Is the enamel non-stick?
Yes. The satin enamel surface is naturally non-stick, and improves with use. To prevent sticking, use a low to medium heat and a generous amount of oil - don’t worry, enameled cast iron gets hot and stays hot for the perfect sear.

Do I need to season enamel pans?
No. Unlike raw cast iron, enamel pans don’t need seasoning. Just wash, dry, and cook.  To protect the rim,occasionally  rub on a small amount of high smoke point oil. 

What’s the enamel made of?
A natural glass-based coating fused to cast iron at high heat. Durable, smooth, and free from PFAS, PFOA, and PTFE.

Can I use metal utensils?
Wood, bamboo, or silicone is best. Light use of metal won’t hurt. Avoid sharp edges that can chip enamel.

Is it dishwasher safe?
Dishwashers reduce its life. Hand wash in warm, soapy water for best care.

Does it work in the oven?
Yes. Ironclad enamel cast iron is oven safe. Avoid temperatures over 300°C. But that’s crazy hot.

Does it work on induction?
Yes. Ironclad enamel cast iron works on all heat sources, including induction, flame, and oven. Heat the pan gently and avoid sudden temperature changes to prevent thermal shock.
