FAQs

What are the cooking configurations of the Grande Oven?

The Ironclad Grande Oven is a versatile cast iron cookware set that combines the Grande Legacy Pan and the Grande Grill, offering multiple cooking configurations:

  1. Skillet: Use the Grande Legacy Pan alone as a large skillet for frying, sautéing, or searing.
  2. Grill: Utilise the Grande Grill separately to achieve grill marks and flavours on meats and vegetables.
  3. Dutch Oven:Ironclad Pan
  4. Double Griddle: Place both pieces side by side on a stovetop or over a campfire to create an expansive cooking surface for preparing multiple items simultaneously.
  5. Lid and Base Reversal: Invert the Pan and Grill to use either as the lid or base, providing flexibility based on your cooking needs.

This adaptability makes the Ironclad Grande Oven an excellent choice for various cooking methods, from stovetop meals to campfire cooking.

What makes Ironclad pans superior?

Ironclad cookware is handcrafted for exceptional durability and heat retention.

The cooking surface and base are polished by hand to be naturally nonstick and smooth on induction.

We quality check each pour to make sure that only the finest cast iron comes in contact with your food.

Each Ironclad comes with a 100-year product replacement warranty cast into the iron. This Three Generation Guarantee® is our promise that your purchase will stand the test of time.

Each Ironclad also comes with free access to the Recipe Vault, a secure digital platform for your precious family recipes.

Why Invest in Ironclad Over Non-Stick?

A middle of the road non-stick pan costs around $70 and needs replacing every year. In just three years, that’s already $210—and a huge amount of waste. An Ironclad pan starts at $199 and is guaranteed to last 100 years.

Unlike non-stick coatings that wear out and release toxic chemicals like PFAS into your food and the environment, Ironclad cookware only gets better with time, developing a natural non-stick surface without harmful additives. It’s versatile too—working seamlessly on all heat sources, from induction to campfires.

Ironclad isn’t just cookware; it’s an investment in quality, sustainability, and lasting value. Buy once. Use forever. Save in the long run.

Why Invest in Ironclad Over Discount Cast Iron?

Discount cast iron may seem like a bargain, but the challenge is you never really know what’s in your pan. Over the years, we’ve tested many discount cast iron products to understand how a manufacturer can sell a pan for the same price it costs to ship one. What we found were ingredients we wouldn’t want near our food—some pans even contained cast iron intended for infrastructure, like drains and pipes.

Ironclad cookware is made from premium, food-safe cast iron and tested to meet the highest global standards, including FDA and California Proposition 65 requirements.

Just like you invest in quality ingredients for better flavour, nutrition, and safety, investing in premium cookware makes all the difference.

Food-grade cast iron? What's the deal?

Think of your cookware like an ingredient—you want the best quality for your food. There are four types of cast iron, but only grey cast iron is ideal for cookware. At Ironclad, we test every pour for purity and we use only food-safe grey cast iron. Unlike some brands that opt for cheaper, lower-grade iron. Always check with your cookware maker about their materials—they owe you that transparency.

Can I use the Grande Oven on an induction cooktop?

Absolutely! The Grande Oven works on any heat source—induction, gas, electric, BBQ, even a campfire.

Handy Tip: When using induction, start on low for a minute or two before increasing the heat, as too much heat too quickly can warp cast iron. And for best results, match the induction hob size to the pan.

Don't forget, if anything ever happens to your Ironclad, we’ll replace it. That’s the Ironclad Guarantee®

If you ever need support, just get in touch—we're always happy to help.

How do I care for my Grande Oven?

Hand-washing is recommended to preserve the seasoning. Simply use a good brush and hot water, dry thoroughly, and apply a thin coat of oil or conditioning balm.

What causes cast iron to warp?

Usually, it's from using a burner that's too small for the base of the pan, or cranking up the heat too quickly. This creates a hotspot that makes the iron expand unevenly. Minor warping often fixes itself as the pan cools. If it's bad, though, it might not go back to perfectly flat. In that case, you're covered. Just contact us at hello@ironcladpan.com

What if I'm not happy with my Grande Oven?

We’re so confident you’ll love your Ironclad that every purchase comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you’re not completely satisfied, return it—no questions asked.

After that, our Three Generation Guarantee® kicks in. If your pan warps, cracks, or loses structural integrity over 100 years of regular use, we’ll replace it.

"Regular use" means cooking with it, taking it camping, or using it on an oven, BBQ, or campfire. It doesn’t cover things like tossing it into the ocean on a dare, using it as a hammer, eating it, or melting it down for a drink—things like that.

How long until my Grande Oven arrives?

Most orders ship within 3-5 business days, except for the Heirloom, which is made to order. You'll see live shipping rates at checkout. We ship worldwide and even cover a good chunk of the shipping costs.

What about import duties and taxes?

We want to ensure a smooth delivery for your Ironclad. For international orders, please be aware that your country may impose additional import duties and taxes. You can estimate these costs by contacting your local customs office before placing your order.

What happens if my cast iron gets rust spots?

A bit of surface rust is normal, especially if it's been drip-drying. It's easily fixed. A good scrub with soap and steel wool, a wipe with an oiled cloth, or even a run through your oven's cleaning cycle will do the trick. If in doubt, re-season it like new—see our tips page for an easy walk through. If that's too hard, we're always here to help. Just get in touch at hello@ironcladpan.com
